Purpose of Position:

To achieve defined annual sales goals and objectives within assigned territory. Identify, manage and close new business opportunities, develop long-term distributor and end-user relationships, execute sales initiatives and programs, effectively manage distributor growth and increase market share for Elbeco products.

Reports To:  National Sales Manager    

Overnight Travel Requirements: 50%+


A.        Developing and Managing Distributors/Dealers/End-Users

    1. Develop strategic sales objectives for the territory

    2. Establish end-user account penetration targets with distributors/dealers/direct

    3. Create brand preference demand with End-User agencies and assist same to develop Elbeco product specifications and comprehensive bid program specifications

    4. Implement tactical sales plans to maximize product and sales growth potential

    5. Identify and develop new business, new product, and new Dealer opportunities

    6. Develop effective relationships with distributor partners to reach preferred vendor status for both stock and contracted/special product opportunities

    7. Effective territory management and market penetration/expansion

    8. Introduce and support Company Marketing Initiatives in customers’ retail locations. 

B.     Increasing Sales and Market Share

  1. Conduct product training seminars and merchandising support to increase product knowledge of distributor/dealer sales personnel and end-user agencies

  2. Provide product presentations to customers and potential customers at End-User level – “pull” through versus “push” through

  3. Implement specification development and wear test programs at End-User level and in conjunction with distributor partners

  4. Identify and manage new target account efforts through distributors/dealers and on a direct basis when necessary

  5. Practice effective overall territory management activities

  6. Attend and represent the Company at various regional, state, and local conventions and attend Company regional and/or national sales meetings

C.     Conduct Quarterly distributor/dealer performance reviews and present appropriate distributor sales and price level program agreements and conditions

D.     Analyze distributor sales performance and compliance with overall business objectives and recommend additions or elimination of distributors/dealers

E.     Co-develop and execute a yearly strategic and tactical territory business plan under the direction of the National Sales Manager 

F.     Communicate with National Sales Manager on a regular basis and submit all required reports in a timely manner

G.     Manage Territory, sales activities and database through the use of the company supplied Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Program 

H.     Work with the VP of Sales and Marketing when required.

Position Requirements:

  • Well rounded, resourceful sales professional who is dynamic and results-driven, possessing a sense of urgency and solid goal orientation.
  • Four (4) year college degree in Business preferred.
  • Four (4) years minimum of successful experience in a direct sales position, preferably within the governmental uniform apparel industry.
  • Ability to maintain a travel schedule which will meet the above job responsibilities.
